Winter
Moth Treatment
Dr. Robert Childs,
State entomologist, is projecting
that the 2009 winter moth population
will be the heaviest year yet. This
is due to the late fall warm period
which allowed for increased moth
activity, mating and subsequent egg
production.
Tree Specialists treats Winter Moth
with a foliar application using one of two different
products, Conserve and Bacillus
thuringiensis (Dipel). Both products are derived
from naturally occurring soil bacteria and are considered
the best environmentally sensitive management
tools for this pest.
